Sellwood-Moreland, Brooklyn, Eastmoreland NET
New to NET?
| Get Ready | Visit PublicAlerts.org to learn and prepare yourself for local emergencies. |
|---|---|
| Get Involved | Support your neighborhood by volunteering to be a Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) member. During a citywide or regional emergency such as a severe winter storm, flood, or major earthquake, volunteer neighborhood rescuers will likely be first on-the-scene when firefighters and police are slowed by impassable streets or overwhelmed by calls for help. |
Overview
The Sellwood-Moreland, Eastmoreland, and Brooklyn neighborhood teams have combined efforts and meet on a regular basis at the SMILE station in Sellwood (8210 SE 13th Ave). We are volunteers who are invested in supporting fellow neighbors and community partners in building preparedness, education, and resilience – both before and in the event of an emergency.
We would love to have you join us! You do not have to complete NET training in order to attend and participate in meetings (but if you are interested in getting officially trained, we’re happy to help you make that happen).
Also – if you are interested in preparedness but aren’t able to participate in the NET, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Explore this website to learn about other resources and opportunities.
