+Write down what you hear.  Using notepaper is fine.
+Read back what you have heard to verify accuracy.
+Avoid referring to people by name or otherwise conveying personal information.
+Except when participating in an actual deployment say "This is an exercise." frequently.
+When you receive important information be sure it is routed to the appropriate person.
