Teams of three are optimal for successful operation of the intake process. The positions include: | |||
* Documentation Clerk: Person that fills out paperwork at the intake table. Works to input data, can do daily animal counts and organizes paperwork. Detail oriented. Must be able to use intake forms. | |||
* Animal Handler: Person that handles the animals at intake; takes pictures, checks for microchips, tattoos, prepares and attaches the ident-a-band. This person conducts preliminary health assessments looking for any obviously unhealthy or injured animals. | |||
* Runner: Takes animals to triage or the the shelter. Keeps the animal under control during intake, is available to run onsite errands and deliver animals to veterinary triage or specific areas in the shelter. They may also escort the public through the shelter when they are looking for a missing animal. | |||
