The Portland NET monthly simplex exercises are held at 7 pm on the 5th of each month. These exercises help us build skills that will be critical during a major deployment when normal communication methods like telephone systems, the Internet and even Amateur Radio repeaters may not be available. Two email messages are sent each month to amateur radio operators affiliated with the NET program.

  • About 10 days in advance: A "save the date" with a hint about the theme of the next exercise
  • About 3 days in advance: A message that includes a link to detailed instructions
